What device do I need ?

You need a desktop, or laptop, or iPad or Tablet. You can enhance the sound with headphones or a Bluetooth speaker though it’s not essential.

What technology do you use?

We use a variety of apps that are game based and make learning fun and motivating for students. We can discuss the options we offer during your free consultation.

What methods of payment do you accept?

We accept monthly auto-draft through our payment app, or by cheque for one term. An invoice will be sent before we can reserve your weekly time. You are able to cancel payments at any time.

Do you host recitals?

Absolutely! There’s no better way to grow as a musician than to perform live, and we encourage it as often as possible.

For years, we’ve hosted recitals concerts for our students at least twice per year — but while we’re still in social distancing mode, our recitals have turned into awesome virtual recitals held through Zoom, each with a maximum of 12 performers. We also pre-record performances and splice all of the performances together for a live broadcast over our private YouTube channel or our Facebook group. Make some popcorn and pull up a chair and enjoy with live chat!

Is my child ready for piano lessons?

If your child has the desire to take lessons, then it is worth setting up a free consultation with us so we can assess if they are ready or not. We do have some lesson options that are more appropriate for really young beginners. There are many factors in determining if a child is ready. How is their attention span? Can they read letters A-G, numbers 1-4? Can they follow directions? Get in touch and we can help you decide.

Do you offer family discounts?

Yes! We offer a 5% monthly discount for parent-child or sibling combos, or for students taking multiple lessons.

Do I need to sign a contract?

Not at all!

Once you start the monthly membership, you’ll only be billed one month at a time, and you can stop anytime as long as we receive notice at least 7 days before the start of the next month.

How do I officially cancel my lessons?

If you’re enrolled in our monthly plan and need to stop lessons, send us an email at least 7 days before the end of the month, and we’ll stop all future charges. Tuition is non-refundable once billed! If you cancel in the middle of a month after paying for that month, you can still use your remaining lessons.

Is there a registration fee?

There is a $$40 CDN one-time signup fee (per family, not per student) due on the first invoice when students start the monthly membership.

How much should I practice?

In our group lesson program students learn all of their music during the lesson, ranging from 2-6 new songs every lesson! This way we do away with the idea that kids should ‘practice’ at home, instead we want kids to leave lessons feeling empowered and inspired to play their music at home. And enjoy it!

While our Private lessons include learning music during the lesson, the focus is more on learning practice strategies and will involve home practice. We recommend 4-6 sessions during the week of 10-20 minutes each.

Our Guarentee

If you are not completely satisfied with your experience after your first lesson, we offer a full refund with no questions asked. That is our guarantee to all families and students at Piano Time Music Studio.

Let’s Learn Together!

At Piano Time Music Studio we believe kids learn faster and with greater results when they are exposed to a variety of approaches, have the opportunity to acquire collaborative skills, and engage in peer level learning.
