Meaghan Mullaly

Voice, Songwriting, B.Mus.
Pop, Rock, RnB, Soul, Folk

Meaghan wears a lot of hats in the industry, both on and off the stage. The seasoned impresario defies any attempt to be pigeonholed, naturally navigating a multitude of genres and labels. She’s a commercial radio host, music programmer and ambassador for underground hip hop culture. She’s a stripped back acoustic lyricist who DJ’s and emcee’s off the cuff.  The bilingual Quebecer and now BC-based eclectic singer-songwriter-rapper-bandleader goes beyond classification with genre-bending offerings from trippy R&B, and soulful jazz-infused ballads, to groovy electronic bass and progressive hip hop soundscapes.
On her forthcoming record, “Before I even got down with rap, I’d write songs on my guitar.” she worked with JUNO award-winning beatmaker DJ Kemo to produce the album At the helm of the project is renowned platinum and gold engineer Roger Swan, acclaimed for his work with artists like Drake, Alicia Keys and Busta Rhymes.
While a trail of sonic footprints on Sony/EMI, Urbnet, Bombastic Jam, and her very own label, Soul Path Records, have catapulted her unique sound worldwide, Lozen’s electrifying live performances are cornerstones that continue to support her journey. Opening for hip hop titans like De La Soul, The Beatnuts and Blackalicous as well as homegrown electronic bass luminaries such as Stickybuds and The Funk Hunters, she’s made an indelible mark, forging her-story as a praiseworthy woman in music.

Hailing from Red Deer, Alberta, David’s musical life began by taking piano lessons from his mother, as well as singing in an elementary school choir.  Once in middle school, he took a hiatus from piano and voice to explore saxophone and drums.  He ended up playing drums in the rhythm section of his high school choirs, at which point his love of piano and voice was reignited.  After high school, David left Western Canada to attend the School for Music Vocations in Iowa.  It was here that David developed a passion for jazz piano and voice, as well as small ensemble vocal jazz singing. David went on to complete a Bachelor of Music (First Class Honours) in Jazz performance at St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, focussing on voice and piano. While at St. FX, he also sang and played shows in a variety of student-led projects, ranging from beatboxing (a natural merging of his love of voice and percussion) in a hip-hop group, to playing synthesizers and keyboards in a Funk band.  He went on to obtain a Bachelor of Music Education from Memorial University in Newfoundland, before settling in the Greater Toronto Area.
